South Africa is the global leader in ostrich farming, with the Klein Karoo region around Oudtshoorn being the world capital of ostrich production. Mtas Livestocks supplies ostrich chicks from certified, disease-free breeding flocks for export to ostrich farming operations worldwide.

Ostrich is one of the most versatile farm animals: a single bird produces up to 40 kg of lean, low-cholesterol, red meat; premium leather that is the most expensive commercially produced leather in the world; and high-value decorative feathers. The fat yield and eggs also have commercial value.

Chicks are sold as Day-Old, 3-week, and 3-month (weaned) groups. All chicks are vaccinated, beak-trimmed where required for transport, and accompanied by full health certificates and export documentation.
